Disney Junior’s Sofia the First (🌟🌟🌟🌟/5)

Sofia the FirstΒ is on Disney Junior which is for more of the pre-school age (newborn to 6 years old). My daughter, Abby has been watching Sofia the First for the past 3 years and it is one of her favorite show.

Being a parent you are usually stuck watching all the shows your children watch and this is one show that I don’t mind watching at all. I sometimes watch it when Abby isn’t even home.

Background Story (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5)
A young girl named Sofia and her mother Miranda make shoes in the kingdom of Enchancia. One day, Sofia and her mother are ordered to make King Roland II a new pair of shoes. Miranda and King Roland II fall in love and they get married, which makes Sofia become a princess. As she adjusts to her new role as princess, with the magical Amulet of Avalor (her step-father gives as a gift, but doesn’t know it’s magic until later on), Sofia works to live amongst the royal family while having different adventures along the way.

This is very different from other princesses because this show embraces blended families and shines light on the good instead of the bad, as it’s told in Cinderella and Snow White.

Characters (🌟🌟🌟/5)
Sofia is voiced by Ariel Winter,Β Modern FamilyΒ star. Sofia is a brave, strong, independent young girl who loves to find the good in everyone and help those in need. I believe that Sofia is a perfect role model for younger girls due to her confidence and how she doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. If she wants something, she works hard for it.

However, there are other non-main characters that make appearances here and there that aren’t as nice as Sofia and mainly complain and who are selfish. I understand that it’s good for a child to learn what is good vs what is bad, but I’ve had my daughter act like some of the ‘snobby’ characters and that wasn’t okay with me.

Songs/Dances (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5)
I’M OBSESSED!! Throughout the day, I would find my fiancΓ©e and I singing and dancing to mostly every single song that has been on Sofia. These little few second songs are by far the catchiest songs ever, but they aren’t annoying like “It’s a Small World”, they are actually pretty good.

These two songs, Abby and I sing repeatedly.

Life Lessons (🌟🌟🌟🌟/5)
In every Sofia the FirstΒ episode, there is always a different life lesson that is taught. Sofia and her friends usually make it clear on what the conflict is in the episode and by the end of the 30 minutes, the problem is resolved and your child will come out understanding the important life lesson of that particular episode.
